The Constitution is the penultimate document in the American legal system, a document which is not supposed to be trumped and trampled on by megalomaniacal puppet presidents and bodies of unelected, unaccountable officials. However, Washington has recently seem to have forgotten this basic fact and embraced the system of global government.

The craziest thing about this is that there is no conspiracy theory involved here, there is nothing to debate, the facts are irrefutable. Barack Obama followed a resolution put forth by the United Nations without so much as a ceremonial consult with Congress. American forces were deployed and taxpayer dollars spent without any input from the people of the United States. Apparently a body of foreign unelected bureaucrats are more important than our supposed elected representatives.

The Libyan debacle is only the beginning the United Nations and their global governmental takeover. What’s next, you ask? Your legally owned firearms.

Even people within this corrupt system see the perils of such a treaty, which is  adamantly supported by Clinton and others within the U.S. and 152 other nations.

When only our "leaders" and "authorities" are allowed to carry guns and protect themselves, there is cause for concern.

Larry Bell writes,

Former U.N. ambassador John Bolton has cautioned gun owners to take this initiative seriously, stating that the U.N. “is trying to act as though this is really just a treaty about international arms trade between nation states, but there is no doubt that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control.”

President Obama’s record on citizen gun rights doesn’t reflect much advocacy either. Consider for example his appointment of anti-gun rights former Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels as an alternate U.S. representative to the U.N., and his choice of Andrew Traver who has worked to terminate civilian ownership of so-called “assault rifles” (another prejudicially meaningless gun term) to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Then, in a move unprecedented in American history, the Obama administration quietly banned the re-importation and sale of 850,000 collectable antique U.S.-manufactured M1 Garand and Carbine rifles that were left in South Korea following the Korean War. Developed in the 1930s, the venerable M1 Garand carried the U.S. through World War II, seeing action in every major battle.

As an Illinois state senator, Barack Obama was an aggressive advocate for expanding gun control laws, and even voted against legislation giving gun owners an affirmative defense when they use firearms to defend themselves and their families against home invaders and burglars. He also served on a 10-member board of directors of the radically activist anti-gun Joyce Foundation in Chicago during a period between 1998-2001 when it contributed $18,326,183 in grants to anti-Second Amendment organizations.

I don’t know about you but I don’t like the idea of a massive world-wide database of every single legal gun owner as this leaves only negative possibilities. Such a list would be the perfect tool to round up and confiscate every single firearm leaving the only weapons in the hands of corrupt police and an out of control government.

Our founding fathers included the Second Amendment to the Constitution for a reason, and it definitely was not for shooting squirrels, at least not primarily.

I currently do not even own a firearm as it is harder to get a license in California than Nazi Germany. However, I will openly advocate every single law abiding citizen’s right to keep and bear arms. The thought of a completely disarmed public is nothing short of horrifying.

The fact is that an armed public leads to a safer society. The nine states in America with the lowest rates of violent crime are all right-to-carry states. This is the same right that the United Nations and Washington are waging open war on. How do they justify this? How can they reconcile the fact that a disarmed public leads to drastically higher rates of violent crime as only criminals are able to procure weapons.

Anti-gun control activists are often characterized as white wing radicalized militia members in order to demonize them. The fact is that everyone has the right to keep and bear arms, when these rights are taken away by government, the people should be worried. History tells a grim story of the events that follow disarmament, take Hitler, for example.

Obama has been fighting a dirty and vicious covert battle against our Constitutional right to protect ourselves against criminals and out of control government “authorities.” Obama has been quoted as saying he is attempting to disarm the public “under the radar.” Operation Fast and Furious or “Project Gunrunner” must also be mentioned. This is the operation run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms that involved running automatic weapons into Mexico in order to put them in the hands of criminals, lending support for unnecessarily restrictive anti-gun legislation.

The guns were supposedly going to be tracked and monitored by the ATF but instead they were walked over the border, put into the hands of cartels and other dangerous individuals who then used them to murder Americans. What a horrifically effective way to drum up public support for the eradication of our Constitutional rights.

Clearly the Constitution is under heavy fire from all sides both foreign and domestic. I find it quite ironic that Obama swore to protect the Constitution while he is doing his best to completely destroy it with the help of a foreign unelected governmental body.

The first step is to stop following UN resolutions as if they come from the House or Senate. We have absolutely no obligation or duty to follow these declarations in which the American people have no say whatsoever. It wouldn’t hurt to kick the UN off American soil, either. I’d be much happier if they were located in the dictatorial EU, or even better, if they were dissolved completely.

International diplomacy is possible without these unelected, unaccountable groups that operate outside of sovereign laws and completely outside of the democratic system. We do not need one world government to solve the interior conflicts of nations, especially when the conflicts are fomented, backed, and openly supported by outside interests, e.g. Libya.

The second step is to make it clear to our politicians that we will not stand for the Constitution being stepped on by Washington anymore. The PATRIOT Act alone was enough to make the founding fathers roll in their graves. An unarmed populace is a defenseless populace and with the ever-expanding ludicrous actions taken by police officers and government agents nationwide, we need our right to bear arms just as much as we needed during America’s inception.

The third step is to raise the awareness of the public to the fact that waiting periods and restrictive gun laws do nothing to curb crime. The entire notion that nations are safer due to being disarmed is a complete fallacy as detailed in the CATO Institute article linked above.

Do you think a criminal would break into your house if he knew you had a loaded Glock in an instant-access safe next to your bed? Do you think a destitute thief would risk having his face blown off by a shotgun for some jewelry?

The fact is that crime is greatly reduced when the criminal community is aware that every Tom, Dick and Harry is packing a deadly weapon.

So why are we allowing this global governmental structure to be erected around us as we sit silent and watch it happen? The American people, and the people of the world, need to stop letting our “leaders” run all over us as if they are the “authorities” and/or our owners, instead of the public servants they really are.
