New poll reveals massive distrust of Washington, New York Times uses the opportunity to call Ron Paul “second-tier”

Mistrust and disapproval of our so-called representatives in Washington is at staggering levels according to a poll conducted by The New York Times and CBS News via telephone between October 19th and 24th, incorporating the views of 1,650 adults.
While only 9% of those polled across the nation approved of how Congress is handling its job, this is far from the only surprising result.
When asked if they thought the views of the individuals involved in the Occupy Wall Street movement generally reflect the views of most Americans, an astounding 46% said yes, 34% said no, 2% said some do and 18% had no opinion.
This is a noteworthy result because considering the negative spin the mainstream media has put on the Occupy Wall Street movement and its offshoots since day one, the fact that 46% think they are reflecting the views of most Americans is remarkable.
The majority of respondents were also highly skeptical of if Obama and the Republicans in Congress had a clear plan for creating jobs.
56% did not think Obama had a clear plan and 71% did not think that Republicans had a plan, with 38% saying Obama does have a plan and 20% saying Republicans do.
The poll also shows that the vast majority of respondents did not trust the government in Washington to do what is right always or most of the time.
A mere 10% of those polled said that they thought they could trust Washington always or most of the time, down considerably since last year when it was closer to 20%.
President Obama’s approval rating is 46% while a massive 74% say that the United States is on the wrong track while 84% disapprove of Congress.
It is reassuring to see that the American people are seemingly waking up to the reality of a false two-party system which carries out the exact same agenda.
Roughly 70% of Americans think the policies of Republicans in Congress favor the rich, although it is unclear if the same question was asked about Democrats as both parties’ policies favor the rich in the end.
It would be interesting to see if more Americans are becoming aware of the fact that modern Democratic Party is not really much different from the modern Republican Party: both serve the rich and corporations, both expand American imperialism, both support torture, and both are pro-globalist.
It is also quite heartening to see that many people think the Occupy Wall Street movement is an accurate reflection of how Americans are feeling, a sign that these protests are unlikely to fizzle out any time in the near future.
In an article covering the poll and the implications it carries, The New York Times continues to pretend that Ron Paul isn’t a legitimate choice in the Republican primary.
They mention the undisputed king of flip-flops Mitt Romney (who said he wanted to have a war criminal in his cabinet), Rick Perry (a former Bilderberg attendee), and Herman Cain (a Federal Reserve stooge who said the Occupy Wall Street protesters should blame themselves for their economic woes) while calling Paul a “second-tier candidate”.
This is likely because Ron Paul is the only person in the race that actually distrusts government as much as America does.
It is also far too dangerous for the corporate media to give credence to ideas promoted by the likes of Ron Paul; after all he is threatening the entire system of corporatism that supports their enterprise.
Even if Ron Paul remains marginalized, regardless of his remarkable performance in straw polls like the one in Ohio in which he took the majority of the vote – over double the percentage garnered by his closest competitor – it is becoming clear that America is waking up and not blindly trusting Washington anymore.

Short answer–NOPE.
Longer answer–these people have been bought and paid for, and they do what they’re told by their bosses in big business, big pharma, and big banking. They know which side their toast is buttered on, and unless you gave them a few tens of thousands for their last election campaign or can offer them a lucrative “consulting” job whenever their gig on Capitol HIll is over, IT AIN’T YOU. I know it sure isn’t me.
I dont think the congress really cares what their approval rating is as long as they get corporate backing, that pays for all toys the cops are armed with. Remember the 1% accounts for close to 50% of all tax collected. So in the end when this cost is passed on to the consumer in form of fees and price increases, the congress does not care as its all done in the name of “free market”
Big surprise. The NYT continues to prove themselves to be illegitimate. Who still takes them seriously at this point? Every article is an op-ed masked as pure news. That bit about dr Ron Paul just makes it clear.
