Obama reportedly planning to send troops to the Persian Gulf, build Middle Eastern NATO

Somewhat unsurprisingly, the claim made by the Obama administration that the troops now in Iraq would be brought home turned out to be yet another total lie.

I don’t know how anyone can still believe anything that Obama and his regime claims given the fact that he lies almost all of the time, like he did just last week by claiming that the United States had no boots on the ground in Libya.

We can speculate all we like about the Obama regime increasing the levels of American troops in the Persian Gulf, but at this point it would all be inconclusive.

However, this is highly suspicious given the escalation between the United States and Iran after the nonsensical alleged assassination plot.

The United States is also reportedly trying to strengthen multilateral relations with the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in order to reinforce regional military ties.

The GCC members are Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman.

It is not unreasonable to speculate that the United States and the Western mainstream media has been covering up and supporting the brutal Bahraini crackdown in order to keep the U.S.-friendly Al Khalifa regime in power.

If the opposition could rise to power, it is very likely that they would not be as quick to kowtow to the United States as the current monarchy.

This would very likely be a large destabilizing force in the region which the United States cannot afford, especially with Iranian tension on the rise.

It appears that the United States is trying to work towards a Middle Eastern NATO of sorts, likely to create that “credible military threat” towards Iran that Israeli leaders have been calling for.

An anonymous senior administration official told The New York Times, “It’s not going to be a NATO tomorrow, but the idea is to move to a more integrated effort.”

One of the most obvious reasons for increasing the troop presence in the Persian Gulf is to keep putting pressure on Iran.

The New York Times continues to parrot the government fearmongering narrative that claims Iran is “the most worrisome threat to many of those [GCC] nations, as well as to Iraq itself”.

A member of Bahrain’s ruling family who also just happens to be the Foreign Minister, Sheik Khalid bin Ahmed al Khalifa, echoed this in an interview when he said that officials in the Persian Gulf are “worried that the American withdrawal will leave a vacuum, that their being close by will always make anyone think twice before taking any action”.

Essentially, the United States will be a threatening force in the Middle East, ready to be deployed if any nation decides to stop being a Western puppet.

This is a role that America has played in the Middle East for some time now, although the fact that they’re coming right out and admitting such now is somewhat noteworthy.

However, the American people should not idly by and allow this to happen, after all, we are the ones paying for this intimidation force.

When our economy is in the toilet, chronically high unemployment – especially among the long-term unemployed – seems to have no end in sight, and we have absolutely no money to speak of, how can we justify keeping a standing army in the Persian Gulf?

Regardless of the simple fact that we cannot afford to continue our imperialistic crusade in the Middle East, elements of our government that support the cancerous war profiteering industry are attempting to do just that.

In a letter to the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, 12 Republican Senators demanded hearings on the end of negotiations with Iraq on continuing American “training” and “counterterrorism” efforts within Iraq.

The Senators wrote, “As you know, the complete withdrawal of our forces from Iraq is likely to be viewed as a strategic victory by our enemies in the Middle East, especially the Iranian regime”.

This is the classic justification utilized by Neoconservatives in Washington for far too long now.

We can’t leave because then our “enemies” will consider it a victory, yet our being there is getting American men and women slaughtered while inciting hatred of the United States around the world.

I must commend Ron Paul for speaking out on this issue as he is the only Republican candidate I have heard that actually points out that our foreign policy in the Middle East incites hatred and provides ideological fodder for those seeking to radicalize individuals against the United States.

Although many Americans don’t like to think about it, our continuous military presence in the Middle East has likely inspired most terrorists to take action.

It would be a lot harder to radicalize and mobilize extremists against a peaceful entity thousands of miles away compared to a war machine in your own country and those around you.

Simply put, the claim coming from the Obama administration that the troops would be sent home was nothing other than a bold faced lie.

I guess we can add this to the painfully long lies of lies that just seems to grow by the day as Obama and his cronies seem incapable of actually telling the truth to the American people and the world.

Americans need to speak out about this, and fast, or else we could witness a slow escalation between the United States and Iran which could very well lead to a World War III-type scenario.

If America withdraws, we will be paying more for fuel then Europe already does. America has the cheapest fuel then in the entire world, who wants to change that?
