Taxes for health care, oh boy!

Do you remember the promise that Barack Obama made during the election in 2008?

He said something about the middle class being taxed enough. He claimed he would not put a bigger tax burden on our middle class.

Then came the health care debate. They claimed that it is not a tax. This same rhetoric came from all the democrats in Washington. Well, now the Supreme Court has upheld the controversial healthcare law because they claim that it falls under the ability of Congress to tax the American people.

You see, people cannot be compelled to purchase a product (which is what “Obamacare” would actually do) but you can be taxed for government services even if you never use them.

This has been the process over the years and the people haven’t noticed it. Transportation is a good example.

Here we have the regional transportation authority (RTA) which provides transportation for people who don’t have cars or would prefer not to use them on a daily basis. Unsurprisingly, it is funded through fares and taxes.

Schools are paid for by property taxes. Even if you rent the property tax is part of that rent. Local beautification projects are funded by local taxes and many more things that you may never use or see are paid for by your tax dollars.

There is an obvious problem with the taxes we pay. Regional transportation as well as Amtrak (which is actually a government entity) is normally broke and looking for more money. Our schools can’t seem to teach our children to read, write or do math no matter how much money we throw at them. And there has never been a government program which has worked and come in at or under budget.

One thing our government officials do know how to do is rob the funds for their own use in areas that were never meant to be funded. Look at how well social security has done. This has been a constant problem ever since its inception. The congress found a pot of cash to draw from. Now it’s going broke and they have done nothing to fund it.

Do you trust these people to do the right thing?

When Mom and Dad can’t retire they can move in with you or you can just kick them to the side of the road. It’s great that their social security went to some other project or to fund someone’s Medicare who never paid a dime for it.

It’s time to change the laws in this country. Any law passed should apply to all Americans including congress and the president.

This means that the health care law would apply to them while currently they can receive waivers. They would lose their sweet health care deal.

Furthermore, any taxes passed must be used for what they were intended for originally, and nothing else. It might not be perfect, but it would be a start and a significant improvement over what we have now.

If you think that the health care is any different, think again. They have found the largest pot of gold ever.

Your taxes are now going to go up until there is nothing left for you. Remember, there has never been a government program that they didn’t like and the larger the pot of cash the more they like it.

Exactly where in the constitution does it say congress can tax us for government services? Didn’t we send King George’s redcoats packing for this crap? I want to see the statute that says I have to pay income tax, too. Exactly where is that one? It’s all a fraud. The IRS was established as a collection arm for the Federal Reserve. It’s another lie that needs to be ended.

No, their not providing any services – just requiring that you pay their big insurance/pharma/etc contributors – - or they force you to give them money. Like the mafia, but much more widespread.

This obummercare is not for us. It is for the 100 million+ southern invaders. They are the ones that could not get access to our healthcare before this law. Now they can receive their health care after invading your land and stealing your opportunity, The invaders are the only concern to the government. You citizen do not matter. Your vote no longer matters. You are already outnumbered. You will pay for the rest of the worlds health care. If you like it or not. The obummercare was only to get health care to those that were not legally allowed to have healthcare on your dime through our government and state citizen assistance programs. They are now covered so we can rest easy. What ever we do make sure that we stick to talking about it that will change it for sure.

we are are required by law to get car insurance. Some believe that is unconstitutional. However if you drive a car without it and get in a wreck or pulled over, you will be paying, after the fact, more than just a 2.5 % tax.

Insurance companies are rotten, many people are not able to get insurance or lost it when these multi international corporations decided to take jobs overseas. The healthcare system in place is not working.

REPEAT YOU ARE NOT GETTING TAXED UNLESS YOU CAN AFFORD TO GET INSURANCE AND REFUSE! And if you do, a 2.5% tax on your income will go to benefit your community hospitals or people in need ( folks with pre existing conditions, or YES MAYBE EVEN INDIVIDUALS YOU FIND WORTHLESS) Hospitals do not make enough to cover their expenses due to all the folks they are required to treat without health insurance, and this law was a trade off with the insurance companies, they are forced into much needed regulation, and NO ONE IS DENIED COVERAGE.

SIMPLE AS THAT. How can someone be so selfish to to be ok with paying the general income tax that goes to wars above all else but will protest heaven and earth to keep everyone from getting coverage?

Brandon, you can spend the rest of your life trying to talk common sense and decency into these cretins but it will not work.

They have made up their mind that the worst thing that EVER happened to Amerikka was helping it’s citizens to become healthy.

It’s not about coverage, or care quality, or anything other than COSTS. The Obummer plan was written by the top lobbyist for the healthcare industry. They weren’t getting enough money because the bankers put everybody out of work and out of their homes. So when the health care “reform” passed, as we knew it would, the greedy insurance companies got MILLIONS of profitable, new customers, along with the ability to raise the cost of care for EVERYONE, and decrease the amount of care. It’ll effectively force people who refused to buy insurance from them (companies they didn’t feel had the legal or moral right, or the medical knowledge to deny them coverage) to buy it anyway. Nice going, Barry. Things are SO MUCH BETTER, Now.
