US drone kills 4 people in NW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, July 29, IRNA — A US spy aircraft fired missiles into Pakistan’s North Waziristan tribal region on Sunday and killed at least four people, witnesses said.
They said a US drone struck a vehicle in Mir Ali area, some 25 kilometers from Miranshah, the headquarters of North Waziristan.
They said that four missiles hit the vehicle.
Local media reported that a house was also targeted in the strike and that six people were killed in both strikes.
There was no report about the identity of those killed.
The strike occurred when the security forces had clamped weekly curfew in the region for routine troops movement.
It is the US strike in the same region in a week.
At least 11 people were killed when US drones launched a missile strike at militant hideout in North Waziristan on July 23.
US drones often launch missile strikes at the suspected compounds and vehicles of the militants in the Pakistani Waziristan tribal region.
The Sunday’s strike occurred days before the visit to the US by the Pakistan’s intelligence chief.
The army says that Lt. Gen. Zaheer-ul-Islam will talk to the CIA chief and other officials on bilateral issues.
Officials say that he will take up the issue of drone strikes in talks with the CIA officials.
