In case you missed it: 71-year-old taken down as Paul Ryan laughs

In case you missed this clip when it originally surfaced in September of last year, here it is. For those who think Representative Paul Ryan is a trustworthy, respectable person, please witness how he reacts to the genuine concerns of a hard-working senior citizen.

This type of cold, hateful behavior is just par for the course when we’re talking about politicians and obviously Paul Ryan is no different. Looks like he’ll make a great partner for Mitt Romney, the king of flip flopping.

From the YouTube video:

As Congressman Paul Ryan cracked a joke about him, Tom Nielsen found himself face down on the floor being handcuffed by police. The 71-year-old retired plumber from Kenosha was thrown to the ground, placed in handcuffs, and arrested for trespassing and resisting arrest after objecting to Ryan’s plans to gut Social Security and Medicare during his congressman’s only public appearance scheduled during the August recess — a $15 Rotary Club luncheon in West Allis on Tuesday.

Nielsen repeatedly told police that he wasn’t fighting them and that he didn’t want to make any trouble. He also told them several times that he had a broken shoulder. Police officers ignored his comments as they wrestled him to the ground despite his howls of pain.

The following is from Diane Sweet with Occupy America:

This took place last fall at one of Congressman Rep. Ryan’s “Pay to Play” town hall meetings where he was discussing cutting Senior’s Social Security, and Medicare as a means of debt reduction. As you might imagine, one senior was not pleased.

Ryan: “Most of our debt in the future comes from our entitlement programs.”

Senior citizen: “Hey, (Garbled; Ryan continues to speak). I paid into that for 50 years, my unemployment and my Social Security and my Medicare, and now you’re gonna…” At this point you hear the police who are dragging him out shouting, “on the ground, on the ground”.

Ryan then jokes, “I hope he’s taken his blood-pressure medication”, and the room laughs with him.

The guy was out of line. If you act like you are out of control and start yelling at an event where the possible next VP of the US is speaking the police or SS, probably both, will react. Plus Ryan plans to reduce the amount of growth/increases in entitlement programs not cut. Most US sheeple have no clue that almost all entitlement programs have automatic yearly increases some of which exceed inflation. Welfare/entitlements as they currently exist are unsustainable. US will exceed current and projectedFederal revenues in the near future unless changes are made. Ask that guy would he rather have the same amount for the next five years or increasing benefits for the next four and then a worthless check in year five. That is the choice.
