The War on Humans

As hard as it is to believe, there is a segment of society, especially in developed Western countries, that considers the human race to essentially be a parasite.

This 31-minute documentary covers what can fairly be characterized as the “anti-human” movement and the various ways it is rearing its ugly head around the world.

Some of the examples shown in this documentary are downright absurd. Plant rights? Really? I was hoping they accidentally used an article from The Onion, but no, the Swiss government actually does recognize “plant dignity.”

From the YouTube description:

Are humans the enemy? Should pigs and peas have constitutional rights? The War on Humans is a 31-minute documentary that critiques growing efforts to disparage the value of humans in the name of saving the planet. The documentary investigates the views of anti-human activists who want to grant legal rights to animals, plants, and “Mother Earth,” and who want to reduce the human population by up to 90%. The video features Discovery Institute Senior Fellow Wesley J. Smith, author of a companion e-book with the same title.

What do you think? Are humans really the enemies of the planet? Should the human population really be reduced by up to 90% in the name of environmentalism? Let us know in the comments.

OK. We ARE the care-takers of the planet, albeit doing a pretty poor job of it. But reduce the Earth’s human population by 90%? Really? What do these idiots have in mind? Ahhh. A zombie virus! Now, that’s an answer. We eat each other up! ;)

Aside from the sensational headline and the inflammatory bias of the video, this is very simple science. The APEX cause of the worlds problems is overpopulation. I think a more productive approach would be to make contraception freely available world wide. this would be exponentially more cost effective in dealing with the consequences of overpopulation.

I completely agree. And Mother Nature continues to attempt to reduce or rid Herself of Her human virus!

It is by no means established that population is the apex problem. Economic growth is faster and more rapacious than population growth.

You are absolutely correct. But you are missing the link between over population and, the rapasciousness of fast economic growth. Indigenous peoples being dislocated or murdered. Depleting rain forests, producing out of control bacteria, pesticides killing bees, strains of weeds resistant to highly dangerous herbicides that enter OUR food chain, HIV/AIDS, MERS, etc. All designed to meet the needs of a burgeoning world population. Think about it…

Have you heard from, “Don’t drink the Kool-aid?” He is, unsuccessfully, trying tying to give me a beat-down. His belief is not that Spaceship Earth is over populated. Instead he is blaming some kind of world-wide voracious economic system.

“Debating” with him is the most fun I have had in days! :)

“They” want you to think that overpopulation is the problem. The real problem is the model of our greed driven, exploitative economic system. Change the system and the things you have mentioned go away.

“They?” Who is, They?” 1960 – 3 billion people. 2083 – 10 billion people. Take a minute to take you focus off, “… our greed driven, exploitative economic system…,” and just consider population growth: http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/ ;)

You need to get the facts: http://overpopulationisamyth.com/overpopulation-the-making-of-a-myth

Overpopulation is a lie that you’ve swallowed hook line and sinker. If you believe it is a problem, why aren’t you volunteering you and your family to be the first to go?

Because we prefer to be caretakers of Mother Earth, seeing as how so many others won’t take on that responsibility:

: a duty or task that you are required or expected to do

: something that you should do because it is morally right, legally required, etc.

Offering ourselves up to die would be kinda inefficient, wouldn’t you say? And just how many people do you believe Spaceship Earth can support?

Oh so you’re more elite than those inferior eaters who need to be wiped off the earth to keep the resources for you elites? You have the same criminal insane mindset as the people who promote massive depopulation. You probably promote it yourself. You’d fit in well in the criminal elite circles.

How many people? I don’t know. Why don’t you read the link I posted?

Funny that someone so insane and so sold out on a lie would be commenting on “End The Lie”

          • Jay Kenney May 26, 2014 at 12:27 PM

Think I will. I’ll get back to ya. Nope, I don’t promote depopulation. I promote better care of Mother Earth. When it gets down to brass tacks, She will work out Her own method of depopulation. Seeing as how She has been successful in the past…all by Herself.

“Insane?” Mind telling me where you were awarded your medical license and specialty in psychiatry? You see, “Don’t drink the Kool-aid,” I have over 30 years experience with the DSM. Starting with DSM-II. and there is no mention of, “insane,” eh?

Oh, I forgot. I wasn’t aware I needed to post my bona fide to legitimize my self on EtL. But if you want me to, I would be more than happy to comply. Up to you. Just let me know. ;)

What? No caustic response to my most recent reply?

Well, friend. I checked out you link. Probably won’t believe me, but that would make no never mind to me. I am responding to you because I believe I have a personal responsibility to do so.

Reviewed the site as objectively as I was taught. Sorry, I was put off by two things. First, when I clicked on the, “See Scientific Background (Whatever),” I was redirected to the home page. I expected scientific scientific citations. Second, just because Malthus’ and Ehrlich’s predictions did not occur, “on time,” does not mean they are invalid.

Read much of the other stuff, too. Was put off by so many, “Anonymous,” posts. If someone is not will to take personal credit for their posts, I won’t accept their credibility. That’s why I use my REAL name on EtL. Not some fictitious user name. I take credit for what I write. But I expect that makes you no never mind.

If I wrote that kind of tripe without citations, I never would have been awarded two MA’s. and I know my argument is wasted on you. You have made it quite clear that you have closed your mind to any possible alternatives.

But given your belief in conspiracies, might I suggest a site you check out, “EducatingHumanity.” I believe you will like it.

And as far as, “Don’t drink the Kool-aid,” I don’t think I’m the Kool-aid drinker. a phrase I have used quite often myself. Oh, I don’t expect a reply. I figure you believe I am a dupe and lost cause and not worth your time.

            Be well,

            Jay

There are too many people. Period. We could do with 80% less and be far more comfortable.

TPTB with their eugenics solution is completely f**ked tho. If these political and royal psychos want to exterminate humanity, they should be the first to go. Quite literally.

We could bring population down to good levels thru voluntary methods like taxation based on the number of children, etc. Unfortunately, such solutions require honest government which simply does not appear to exist at this time.

I hope this video was posted as a conversation starter. I too much respect for End The Lie to believe that they support the thesis of this video.
To start, I think everyone can agree that the world would be a nicer place with less humans. The real argument begins there, with how to bring about that desired solution; be it through the forced depopulation and soft-kill methods of the global elite, or through taxation or other incentives, or though ubiquitous access to contraception. I am also willing to entertain the notion that human population could continue to grow as our technology advances and we can colonize other worlds or construct our own in space. I doubt that we could sustain our current numbers through radically changing our lifestyles; neither the back-to-the-land nor the stack-and-pack theories would suffice.
Overpopulation aside, the arguments for human exceptionalism and its necessity for creating a viable ethical framework are ludicrous. You don’t even have to accept evolution to recognize the logical fallacies this “author” uses. He is flat-out racist when he suggests that if they “could just get their cultures together” the global poor could exploit their resources and develop into glorious western civys, disgusting. There are so many externalities in this video to even mention all of them. These superiority complexes fall apart in seconds when one simply completes these idiots’ line of reasoning: Humans are better and more important than the rest of nature so we should be able to take more than our fair share of resources from the other organisms with which we share the planet, thereby depleting the environment on which we depend, thereby sealing our own fate. Does anyone really care if we must live in balance with nature out of a sense of duty as a superior lifeform, if we must live in balance with nature as just another animal?? Honestly, this guy must think god gave us the earth to exploit and exhaust, and all those other creatures, oh they’re just decoration…

I missed the video, but I have death with these whack-jobs befor! I think EoL’s point was to expose them rather than support their insane views. I do, however, believe Mother Nature will take things into Her own hands if, we the stewards of Spaceship Earth don’t get a handle on this first. She has done it before. Anything under the guise of, “Soylent Green,” will be a disaster for the human race.
